Main Scientific Directions of Department:

  • applied aspects of tourism activities (tour operator and travel agent activities, evaluation of accommodation establishments and tourist destinations);
  • grammar in practice;
  • practice of oral and written speech;
  • phraseology of the English language;
  • regional studies.
  • research and evaluation of tourist resources;
  • theoretical phonetics;
  • theory and methodology in teaching of a Foreign language;
  • tourist and recreational designing.

Research based on evaluation of tourist and recreational designing and creation of tour product in Sakhalin region is conducted constantly, as well as monitoring tourist and recreational territories of the region.

The Department provides the organization of educational process for the purpose of preparation of professional staff for work in the state and non-state organizations of professional, secondary, preschool, additional education. Research is constantly being conducted to develop the most effective methods of teaching of a foreign language for students at the initial, secondary and advanced stages.
